COMPREHENSIVE CONSULTATION
Comprehensive consultation – the first step towards a treatment plan
A thorough examination, a conversation about your expectations and a clear explanation of the options. The result is a written treatment plan with stages and costs.
WHAT IT INVOLVES
What the consultation includes
The consultation is led by Dr Joanna Chodorowska – the same dentist who will later carry out your treatment.
- Conversation – your dental history, symptoms, habits (such as clenching), and what you expect in terms of appearance and function.
- Examination – of the whole mouth under magnification, with a microscope: teeth, fillings and crowns, gums, bite, jaw joints and chewing muscles.
- Records – notes from the examination, intraoral and extraoral photos and, if needed, X-rays in the clinic or a referral for a CBCT scan at the Diagdent imaging centre.
- Discussion – what we see, what is urgent, what the options are and what the choice depends on.
The consultation takes up to 1.5 hours, so nothing is rushed. No treatment is carried out at this visit – it is time for examination and conversation. The exception is toothache: then we help first and book the consultation separately.
THE RESULT
What you receive after the consultation
- a clear explanation of the condition of your teeth and the causes of the problems,
- a written summary: cavities, the condition of your gums, teeth that need extraction, whether professional cleaning is needed,
- a written treatment plan: stages in the right order, number of visits and an estimated cost – usually as a colour chart marking the teeth to be treated, which you receive at the same visit,
- treatment options with their advantages and limitations,
- answers to all your questions – including those that come up after the visit.
If additional diagnostics are needed, such as a CBCT scan, we prepare the plan once the results are in.
The plan imposes nothing. The decision whether, when and to what extent to proceed is yours. How comprehensive treatment works.
PREPARATION
What to bring
- previous X-rays and CBCT scans, if you have them,
- records and treatment plans from other clinics,
- a list of medicines you take and any chronic conditions,
- with worn teeth – photos of your smile from several years ago; they help recreate the natural shape of your teeth.
COST AND BOOKING
How much it costs and how to book
The comprehensive consultation costs 350 PLN and takes up to 1.5 hours. Its price does not depend on the cost of later treatment. Photos, digital X-rays (single-tooth and bitewing) and a smile trial are not included in the consultation fee. A consultation under the EFP protocol – for worn teeth, bruxism and jaw joint problems – costs 500 PLN and takes up to 2 hours, as it also includes a more detailed examination of the jaw joints, chewing muscles and posture. Sometimes we also make a bite block (JIG) to assess the relationship between the upper and lower jaw. CBCT scans are taken and charged separately by an external imaging centre.
